The NDA evaluated Tshwaraganang Hydroponics and found that it qualifies for grant funding. Grant funding was mainly aimed at financing the production cost during the first production cycle and also to improve the logistics of the company. The funding enabled the company to purchase a small refrigerated truck to deliver their produce to Kimberley three times per week. The funding also assisted the company to replace the existing greenhouse plastic film, which was already more than three years old and due for replacement. Mr Edwin Mabotsa, CEO of Tshwaraganang Hydroponics, said that the NDA's funding, in partnership with the other stakeholders, has empowered them to a point where they can now produce goods consistently on a contract basis for a national supplier. |
